Diablo Immortal Update: New Gem Progression & 13,000+ Resonance Unlocked

Hey Diablo Immortal players! We have some very exciting news to share regarding a massive update heading to Sanctuary in just a few days. It’s a jam-packed update, and we're here to break down all the details.

The main theme is a new event called "A Gilded Dawn: Tong-Shi's Renewal." This is a limited time event, and it’s quite the occasion with a beautiful new castle as a central focus. According to Blizzard’s blog post, Tong-Shi, “a god of the Xian pantheon,” invites you to bask in the glow of a completed year and welcome a new year. With server maintenance scheduled for January 21st for Oceania, China, and other servers, and for January 22nd for American servers, get ready for the content to go live after maintenance is complete.

Let’s dive into what this new update brings:

Tong-Shi’s Renewal Limited-Time Event

This is a new limited-time event that’s running from January 22nd, 3:00 a.m. server time to February 13th, 2:59 am server time. You can complete up to five tasks each day to earn rewards like Red Bags and Tseym.

• Five Daily Tasks: Dungeons, Elder Rifts, killing elite monsters, bounties, and defeating Jingun.
• Rewards: Completing these tasks earns you red bags and Tseym.
• Weekly Limits: 30 red bags and 100 Tseym can be earned each week that Tong she renewal is active
• Red Bags: Celebratory Tong Shi's renewal rewards that can be gifted to friends or clan members.

Additionally, you’ll get even more rewards for sending red bags and sharing the celebration with others. There’s also a free red bag each day by just logging in to the log in rewards tab within the event.

Rewards for sending red bags:

• 1 red bag equals 1 star legendary gem
• 20 red bags equals two star legendary gems
• 40 red bags equals three star legendary gems
• 60 red bags equals three rare crests

Completing daily event tasks can also yield Tseyms and each contribution earns a random reward. Those rewards include gold scrap dust and random legendary items.

Jingun, Eater of Mountains

The fabled terror Jingun, Eater of Mountains, is emerging once again. Find the reincarnated beast and defeat it. This also runs from January 22nd 3:00 a.m. to February 13th 2:59 a.m. local server time. Team up with other adventurers to hunt it down. While hunting for Jingun you can complete a daily task outside of Sanctuary to locate signs of Jingun which reward you with gold scrap and dust. Defeating the mountain eater the first time will earn you one telluric pearl and a legendary item and defeating each time after that grants two red bags for this event.

Lunar New Year Fractured Plane

You’ll have the chance to pick from two available build options when entering. You'll also have randomized affixes and modifiers similar to when playing Elder Rifts.

Hunter’s Moon Phantom Gallery

This is a festive way for players to acquire legendary gems legendary crests gem fragments and more. Starting on January 22nd 3 a.m. server time using Lita you will purchase the ability to draw one item in random from the available item pool there are 10 items total and each can only be acquired once each time you draw an item the cost of the next draw will increase performing 10 draws guarantees that you will receive all available items in the pool.

Players can also earn additional rewards on draws two four five seven nine and 10:

• Masterwork gem selection chest
• Eternal orbs
• Legendary crest
• Masterwork gem selection chest
• Legendary crest
• Builder's Beacon (60 days)

The Builder's Beacon, which can be used to create a portal to the Elder Rift, can be used for 60 days for those that earned the firework vendor contract from last year's lunar Splendor Phantom Galley you can once again paint the sky with a spirited celebration.

New Limited-Time Event Gem Surge

Horadric Alchemists have discovered a breakthrough in their mastery of gemcraft and can now better increase the potency of these potent gems. You will be able to earn polished Jade to upgrade your legendary gems to 3, 4, and 5 quality. Earn progress in gem surge by using external legendary crests and spending obols in the Phantom market and lira in the Phantom Gallery. There is also a weekly login reward that will give users progress in this event as well. The total earnable amount of polished Jade for this event is 22. Keep in mind if you’re eyeing to upgrade a five-star five quality gem

These are the following costs to upgrade your legendary gems:

• 5 star legendary 2 quality to 5 star legendary 3 quality is 1 polished Jade
• 5 star legendary three quality to five star legendary 4 quality is 7 polished Jade
• 5 star legendary four quality to five star legendary 5 quality is 22 polished Jade

Tong-Shi’s Gem Trial

A seasonal generosity has swept across the land. The ability to harness powerful legendary gems is in full effect across every Tavern and back alley keep you will be able to try out the maximum power of select legendary gems the duration will last 3 hours but the time only counts when you're online in game you'll be able to swap gems during the trial.

Celestial Serpent's Phantom Market

A new Phantom Market offering a cosmetic set celebrating the Lunar New Year starts on January 22nd at 3 a.m. server time using Obolos players will purchase the ability to draw one item at random from the available item pool there are 10 items total and each can only be acquired once each time you draw an item the cost of the next draw will increase performing 10 draws guarantees that you will receive all available items in the Phantom market including the celestial Serpent Cosmetic set which can be used with all Diablo immortals classes.

Balance Changes

These balance changes will be effective everywhere in Diablo Immortal:

Barbarian

• Undying Rage: barbarians can no longer move or stop Battleground Idols using undying rage.
• Crackle Fell damage increased by 26% immobilize duration reduced from 6 to 4 seconds.
• Breakers Wheel Hammer of the Ancients: the barrier of Earth now has life equal to 250% of the barbarian's life and can be attacked and destroyed.
• Grim Roost Whirlwind: healing increased from 3 to 6% of damage done.

Demon Hunter

• Agony specter escape targeting range increased by 28%.
• Twisted weird multi-shot explosion damage increased by 20%.
• Flairs banquet vengeance shatter armor effect increased from 4% to 7% increased damage taken per stack
• Brutal Temperance piercing rounds damage increased by 20%.
• Duplicius prophetics knockback shot knockback distance increased by 12%.

Necromancer

• Black wall skeletal Mage damage increased by 22%

Tempest

• No Second Chances wind Edge additional damage increased by 18%.

Wizard

• Eye Plucker electrocute shock damage increased by 29%

Feature Updates

Resonance Cap Increase

The resonance cap has been increased to 13,024 from bonuses due to embedded legendary gems on rank 10 legendary gems. Once you reach the 13,000 mark you will gain access to a new tier of resonance wings.

Darkwood and Ancient's Cradle Monster Changes

We are increasing the monster density and rate at which they respawn in certain areas within Darkwood and ancient cradle Happy Hunting!

Conditional Drop Rate

There is a limited time event for the standard gem pool 01-22-23 3 a.m. through 216-23 3 a.m.

From January 22nd, 3 a.m. server time February 13th 3 a.m. server time, if you use 30 Eternal legendary crest or legendary crests in a row and haven't received a fstar legendary gem you'll gain a bonus to your drop rates starting with a 31st legendary Crest. The drop rate will be increased by 2.25% on your 31st attempt and will increase cumulatively for each subsequent attempt. Should you reach your 41st attempt, the drop rate is then increased to 4.5% per attempt your 50th attempt drop rate is guaranteed to grant a 5-star legendary gem.

Display of Left and Right Rings Updates

Left and right ring now have their icons oriented in different directions for better readability in the inventory.

Armory UI improvements

We've added a new filter option to the Armory missing equipment gets automatically replaced with same name items and you now have the option to only save set items to your load out.

Immortal Sigil changes

For Immortals when you turn in your sigils you can now turn multiple in at one time rather than needing to do them one at a time enjoy your new found stacking.

Survivor's Bane Update

This UI change indicates which classes a chosen skill from. The intent behind this change is that Survivor's bane has internal achievements for upgrading two skills from a single class fully during a single session to unlock a skill which can be used in future sessions this change is intended to make it easier to know which skills belong to which class in case players aren't certain.

Dismantling set items at the Blacksmith Quality of life

When dismantling your items at the blacksmith there is now an option to select multiple set items when dismantling.

Friend list updates

We have fixed a bug in the friends list which caused characters to be cut off too early

Cinematic mute option

We've added an option to mute the looping cinematic that autoplay when your game is updating.

Two additional stash tabs

We have added two additional stash tabs for purchase which cost 2,000 Platinum each.

Terror Reign Monster Health Change

We have reduced the health of monsters including the Lord Of Terror himself in the quest terror's Reign

Quest UI updates

When completing a side quest if any story Adventures are unlocked in the current scene the unlocked Quest name and steps to unlock will now be displayed.

New ways to earn Reforge Stones

We've added the option to earn a Reforge stone by purchasing them from lieutenant fizra in West March and from participating in Battlegrounds.

Necromancer summon updates

We have fixed some rare cases of the Necromancer summons d spawning.
