Diablo Immortal × Berserk Update: Struggler’s Path Guide
First Impressions: A Crossover Built for Hype
We got hands-on with Diablo Immortal’s limited-time Berserk event and found a slick, fan-driven update that hits hard for a few sessions before winding down. The crossover lands 1 May with login rewards, a remixed Phantom Market, a Zodd boss encounter, Eclipse-modified Survivors Bane, and a new customizable pet.
Freebies: Struggler’s Path Login Bundle
Log in on day one and you’ll get a free portal skin, account frame, Legendary Crest, and a rank 1 Crimson Behelit gem—no grind required. Daily tasks unlock cosmetics like Dragon Slayer weapon skins for each class. Barbarians get a massive Guts-style greatsword right out of the gate.
Phantom Market: Cool Skins, Colder Price Tag
How It Works
The new Phantom Market system requires four lower-tier pulls before unlocking access to the premium Guts or Griffith skins. Once there, you’ll have up to twelve pulls and a 50/50 chance to get the one you want early—or pay the full cost.
Price Breakdown
- Average: ~$175
- Unlucky max: ~$250
That’s about $80 more than previous cosmetic draws, and they’ve removed the near-impossible free-to-play jackpot. It’s clearly built to drive sales, not hope.
Zodd Boss Fight: Finally Some Bite
Zodd arrives in a three-phase fight complete with cinematic transitions, new mechanics, and enough punch to kill undergeared players. On test builds with low combat rating, it felt refreshingly dangerous. Expect it to go down fast once you bring your actual character in—but it’s still fun while it lasts.
Crimson Behelit Gem: A PvE Must-Have?
This new two-star gem gives you +30% damage above 50% HP and damage reduction when dropping below half. It also applies fear on kill—especially potent in PvP. While it lacks resonance for whales, it’s a top-tier pick for free-to-play and mid-spenders. For PvE, it’s easily one of the biggest flat DPS gains in the game right now.
Survivors Bane: Now with Eclipse
New map, same mode. Survivors Bane returns with a timed Eclipse mechanic that increases enemy spawn rate, mob speed, and your damage. It’s fun, but not revolutionary. The core gameplay loop hasn’t changed, and boss variety seems limited—at least so far.
New Familiar: Puck with a Beard
This cute Berserk-inspired familiar replaces the default Murloc pet and adds light customization options like beards and accessories. Worst-case cost to unlock it? Around $52. The good news: those cosmetic tweaks don’t cost extra. One price gets you everything, unlike the Phantom Market cosmetics where customization costs stack.
Final Verdict: Short-Term Hit, Long-Term Fade
Diablo Immortal’s Berserk crossover delivers what it promises: solid fan service, a flashy new boss, and gear that looks cool in motion. But it’s not built for longevity. You’ll run the event for a few days, maybe spend a month chasing gem upgrades, and then wait for what’s next. It’s exciting—but temporary.
