Diablo Immortal Gem Surge Event Resolved: Compensation and Fixes Detailed

TL;DR: The Gem Surge event in Diablo Immortal had some major issues with point calculation, and a lack of awarding of points for some player spending. The developer, Blizzard, is now fixing the issues, compensating players for their lost points, and acknowledging the problems. Read on for all of the details!

Gem Surge Event Issues Addressed

Good morning, Diablo Immortal fans! We're here to bring you a critical update on the recent Gem Surge event. Yesterday, many of you experienced issues with points not being counted correctly. The community was understandably frustrated, but we're pleased to report that East Van, a community manager for Diablo Immortal, has responded, and a solution is already being implemented.

Point Calculation and Compensation

As you're aware, there was a problem with the Gem Surge event where players weren't receiving the correct number of points for their Eternal Legendary Crest (Lira) spending in the Hunter's Moon Phantom Gallery. Players should have earned one point for every 10 Lira spent. Here’s a breakdown of the issues and how they're being resolved:

  • Incorrect Point Ratio: The intended ratio was 10 Lira to 1 point, but the system was malfunctioning.
  • Fix in Place: Starting from last night, the correct 10:1 ratio should now be in effect for all Lira spent in the Phantom Gallery.
  • Compensation: Players who participated in the Hunter's Moon Phantom Gallery from the start of the event until the fix will receive compensation for the point difference at a ratio of 5 Lira to 1 point.

Legendary Crest Issue and Resolution

There was also a separate issue: players did not receive points for Legendary Crests used before the event started. This included many purchases made in the Mirror Jewels event before the Gem Surge event went live, which is an error that should not have happened.

Here's what was clarified:

  • Initial Inclusion: Spending before the event was initially meant to be included in the Gem Surge, but that was removed before the event went live.
  • Missing Information: However, this was not removed from the event description, causing confusion.
  • Make Right: The developers have stated that they'll "make it right" and provide missing points. Details on how those points will be distributed are still forthcoming.

What to Expect

Players will receive compensation for missing points due to these issues. Keep a close eye on your in-game mailbox for messages regarding these compensations.

We encourage everyone to log in and check their in-game mail and Gem Surge event progress to confirm that these fixes have been applied. Please be aware that these errors affected "whales" or players spending large amounts of money, so this is a serious issue that needed resolution.
