Getting the Most: Events & the Battle Pass

Diablo Immortal is always adding new stuff. It can be tricky to know what to do next, so getting all you can from current happenings is important. Here’s the rundown of important things now:

• Event Item Conversion: If you had extra currency from the last event, good news! It's been switched to platinum. Check your in-game mail to collect.
• Battle Pass is Ending Soon: The current Battle Pass is almost finished. Be certain to use all “Gifts of Renown” before time runs out to get extra hilts and scrap material.
• Claim Battle Pass Items Now: Claim those Battle Pass items the instant you get them. Waiting till Monday will cause you to lose them completely. Save up again on Monday, if you wish.

Daily Rewards: The Days of Dawnspan Event

The Days of Dawnspan event has daily resets, which means that there is a new opportunity to collect good stuff every day. Here's what this event provides:

• Battle Points: The event will give you battle points, and help you level up your battle pass, gaining even more rewards!
• Moonrite Flora: Every day you get a bunch of Moonrite Flora, which you can use to gain powerful buffs.
• Free Legendary Crest: Log in and do the events to collect your daily free legendary crest. Free power is something you should never ignore.

If you want to be certain to get all the rewards from this event, try to complete these tasks every day:

• Get a First Kill. These are easy to get, even on low-level mobs.
• Run 4 Bounties. Bounties will get you items and experience, so do them every day!
• Complete Iben Fahd’s Sanctum once. This task is an easy one that gives good rewards.
• Complete Elder Rift one time. You get a free crest, use it here.

Potential Double Rewards: Mirrored Jewels Event

There's a rumor about a Mirrored Jewels event coming up. Though Blizzard has not said anything officially, some are saying it could be January 16th. If this event does come, then it’s time to use up saved legendary crests. In this event, any time you run an Elder Rift you will get twice the gems! If this happens, have 10 saved crests so you can really make it worth your time.

A Look at AFK/Lazy Farming

Diablo Immortal is an open world, free-to-play game, and with that sometimes issues come to light. Currently, the biggest issue is AFK farming. Players use different methods or programs to play the game while they are not actually there. This causes problems for the other players who are trying to get ahead: it slows down mob spawns and creates too much competition for the best areas. Here are some things to consider about this:

• Terms of Service Violation: It is against Blizzard’s Terms of Service to do, and can lead to a ban.
• Ongoing Issue: Blizzard has chosen not to address this issue, and for the most part, players who participate do not receive punishment for it.
• Root Causes: The actual reason people are doing this is because there are only a small number of efficient farming areas.

Although Blizzard has not chosen to address the ongoing AFK issue, these design ideas could reduce the negative side effects:

• More Farming Zones: Increasing the total number of areas considered optimal for farming reduces player congestion.
• Remove Bounties: Remove or reduce bounties from optimal farming areas. This lets players focus on maximizing experience rather than doing other activities.

Prioritizing Your In-Game Activities

In my own playthrough, I ran Iben Fahd's Sanctum to take advantage of the ongoing event and gained some much needed items. I also used the familiar mechanic to get some shadow contracts done, which also increases my power. While also taking a quick detour to complete the Shadow Wars section. You must always take the time to be doing the right things at the right time to maximize your experience.
