Diablo Immortal Update: Mirrored Jewels & Barbarian Nerfs

TL;DR: Blizzard’s latest Diablo Immortal update introduces a Mirrored Jewels event, tweaks several classes (including a big Barbarian nerf), expands Challenge Rifts, and shifts Heliquary access to level 60.

New Mirrored Jewels Event

The Mirrored Jewels event finally gives players double the Legendary Gems from a single 10-crest run. That means 20 gems pop out at once. However, the extra gems you earn this way end up bound, so you can’t sell them. If you have some Legendary Crests saved up, this is your chance to grab quick gem power.

Many players recommend using 10 “red” crests (the standard bound ones) to take advantage of the double gem drop. You can still use unbound “purple” crests, but the added gems from the event remain bound. Consider saving or crafting gems before the next big update so you don’t miss out on stronger builds.

Barbarian and Other Class Nerfs

Recent changes hit Barbarian hard, especially Shackled Fate’s range drop from 8 yards to 5. This means many PvP-focused Barbs will lose some crowd-control strength. Flicker Tone (part of the Henry Ancients system) also saw its energy gain from skills halved, weakening certain Barbarian builds.

Crusaders face a smaller tweak: Yawning Rose now takes one second to blast instead of half a second, cutting down on rapid-fire damage. Necromancers see a few adjustments too, such as reduced damage reduction on the Wilt Bloom Command Golem and narrower hit radius on Grim Scythe. While these nerfs mainly target PvP balance, everyone feels the effects during daily dungeon runs and other modes.

Fresh Class Essences

Despite the nerfs, each class also gets new Legendary Essences to experiment with. These items alter skills or add new twists to your rotation. Trying them out can spice up your build, but be prepared to face lower damage output if your main skill or synergy got weakened by these recent changes.

It’s a good idea to keep farming to unlock these Essences. If you focus on PvE content, the smaller changes might not ruin your fun, but you’ll want to adapt your setups to make the most of your gear.

Challenge Rift Season Extension

Challenge Rift season lengths are shifting, with Season 12 starting on April 28 and ending on June 19. Levels now go up to 500, giving you more milestones to reach. On top of that, the combat ratings for Rifts 431–450 are lower, which may help players catch up for better season-end rewards.

If you’re behind, consider pushing now before the new season arrives. You can always prepare for advanced Rifts by boosting your Legendary Gems and staying on track with the event timers.

Heliquary Access Update

Players must now reach level 60 to unlock the Heliquary quest line. Earlier on, it opened at level 36, but that’s no longer the case. This shift shouldn’t be a roadblock, since power-leveling is quicker than ever thanks to the game’s catch-up mechanics.

Once you’ve finished the Heliquary quest, you can jump up from normal difficulty to Hell 1. Make sure you time your progress so you’re not stuck farming weaker zones while your friends move ahead.

Final Thoughts

This update brings new ways to earn gems and tries to rein in dominant PvP builds—especially Barbarian. While most players focus on PvE, they’ll still notice the changes in skill range and damage output. Meanwhile, Mirrored Jewels can fast-track gem power.

Keep an eye out for upcoming Inferno difficulties, especially if you’re saving up Mystery Legendary and Set items for stronger drops. Let us know what you pull from your next Mirrored Jewels run, and good luck aiming for that elusive five-star gem!
